“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results” -Justin Mazzastick. For years, humans have done an extraordinary amount of cruel acts to whom they thought were “different”. Humans have imprisoned, enslaved, and took away many innocent peoples lives because they were so called “not the same” and was part of the “wrong” family or culture. This damaged the “different people” so much that they barely survived this traumatizing experience. But there were people that managed to stay positive through this rough journey and inspired a ton of people. One of the inspirations was Anne Frank from Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. The building that they stood in were not even complete, the people that built them put no effort in it at all, and rushed to throw up these so called “buildings”. There were many of these camps in America, but the one that this book focuses on is one in Arizona. The temperatures are extreme and they had no air conditioning. They have to suffer in the heat and the buildings were just as hot. Miss Breed felt bad for all of these Japanese people and sent books and other stuff for the kids. The Japanese were so happy that someone cared and adults, teens, and kids wrote letters to her. She helped them get through a lot. But in the text, it states “Yesterday I ate rice, weenies, and cabbage with a knife. This was a new experience for me” (Oppenheim par. 22)! This shows that in one of the letters that Miss Breed received, Louise Ogawa, the one that wrote the letter, was trying to stay positive by trying new …show more content…

On the website AnneFrank.org, it states, “Later, the diary is translated and adapted to both film and theatre. People all over the world get to know Anne Frank’s story, and are deeply touched” (AnneFrank.org). This shows that Anne Frank’s positive attitude inspired so many people and deeply touched them.
In conclusion, having a positive attitude will not only help you in survival, but improve your well-being. Positive attitude contributes to physical and mental strength that helps humans during hardships like the camps in harsh conditions.
