Academic Critique Book Review Introduction Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, a book which has been on the New York Times bestseller list for more than 2 years was written by Ransom Riggs. Riggs’ life as an author started when he was still a child. His fun and exciting early life ended when his mother moved him far away from his homeland Maryland, to Florida. This is when Riggs started writing his own stories out of boredom because internet did not exist and TVs only had 12 channels back then. Together with Anna, a peculiar who can create fire from her hands, he searches for clues to discover what had actually killed his grandfather, Abraham Portman.
