Agency Mission Pupil Services is an agency within Los Angeles Unified School District under the Student Health and Human Service Division and their mission statement is the following: “To ensure that all LAUSD students are enrolled, attending, engaged, and on-track to graduate.” The agency firmly believes that within every student is a highly capable and motivated high school graduate. Agency Structure Pupil services partner with a variety of district and non-district agencies such as the City of Los Angeles. The City of Los Angeles pays for 16 PSA counselors, 1 lead counselor, and 1 coordinator position to be co-located at FamilySource Centers which are non-LAUSD agencies.
Over my short, seventeen-year lifetime, I have had passions in many areas, from geography to soccer to leadership. However, as I have grown older, I have had a growing passion for the schools in my area because they taught me everything that I know and have given me all the opportunities that I have taken advantage of. Because of this growing passion, I became involved in two very important organizations that influence the future of the Sartell – St. Stephen School District: the Community Schools Planning Initiative and the Sartell – St. Stephen Board Of Education. Analysis of Mission Statement The James City School District is located in James City, North, Dakota, a community of roughly 16,000 residents. The community is homogenous with roughly 95% of its citizens identifying themselves as white. The school district is the ninth largest school district in the state and serves 2,300 students. The district consists of five elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and an alternative school (AdvancEd, 2013).

Every academic institution has a set of objectives that are lined with a purpose. The purpose is to educate individuals to be well -rounded members of society. These individuals may become leaders or simply productive members of society, however it is their education that gives them the backbone to be either. Every organization has a set of goals and a mission that separates it from all other institutions as well as gives it a certain reputation in the community. The ratio of adults to children is 2:18, and it services regular children and children who can function in a general ed classroom with services. There are nine children in the class whom receive services, ranging from Seits to OT, PT and speech. The classroom runs on Pre-K curriculum and the Common Core method. Personal Reflections: I witnessed the deep respect that Ruvy has for his Seit and that his Seit has in Ruvy.
I learn that it is most important to focus on children when in the classroom. I relax in my work by clean up in this class. Always be available to support children and maintain an overview of what is happening throughout the program. I’m aware that I can’t leave children unsupervised and can be somewhere that have one of the teacher staff can supervise me and the group. I show initiative to assist the teacher and children during activities or transitions.
My goal is small but will hopefully have a large and beneficial impact on myself along with others. Pediatric occupational therapists have the responsibility to teach children and their parents how they can make commendations to improve the child’s quality of life. Although occupational therapists are do not teach academics, which are all extremely important, they teach lifestyle changes. Teachers enable their students to overcome their struggles and improve, just like occupational therapists do. In the last trimester of fetal life, baby can hear external sounds, that sound comes through the speech and from the music. Music therapy is an ancient and yet very modern practice.
Music therapy is the clinical use of music to achieve individual goals and improve relationships; it is also considered a form of Psychotherapy (Music Therapy Medicine). Melodies and harmonies are used to transport patients to new and safe places. The sweet rhythms brings peace and relaxation to stressed minds. Self-worth is found between each melodic note, and anxiety and depression are long forgotten. Memories that were once lost are now found, and medication is improved by this one simple healing tool.
