The team I will be working very close with is the Over/Underpayment analysts for this internship and try to find process that can be created more efficient or be automated for maximum efficiency. The Over/ Underpayment department analysis accounts that have a negative or positive AR balance. Another factor that is crucial is how long it is taking to receive that A/R and what can we do to shorten the AR days. The objective is to get the AR to a zero balance in a timely manner through finding the root cause of the problem, which could be for example an underpayment on an account due to the wrong Rev codes, contract modeling rate changes, incorrect insurance plan imputed in the system, or even missed charges on a medical bill sent to the payer. Through this process we maximize revenue that otherwise would have been missed out on or not collected due to an error.
