Mission statements will ensure that shareholders, employees and customers clearly understand what the company stands for. Mission statements also describe the organization’s overall goals. Mission statements should be written in a way that when someone reads the statement, they have an understanding of the activities that are performed in the organization. In this paper I will compare the mission statement of Chick-Fil-A Foundation with my personal mission statement.

Even though Chick-Fil-A has grown at a rapid rate over the years, the company has not lost its focus on Christianity. The company has maintained its founder’s decision to observe Sunday as the Sabbath. This move symbolized Chick-Fil-A’s strong Christian foundation. According to Chick-Fil-A.com, Truett Cathy stated, “It has proven to my interest financially as well as convenience of permitting our people to have Sunday off where they can forget the business and other interests - devote it to the family as well as to worship if they so choose.” Cathy believes that this was the reason for his success. Youth & Education Programs – Chick-Fil-A has a history of providing substantial scholarship opportunities to programs specializing in educating the youth of America, along with developing our youth and the educational system.
2. Community Involvement and Local Giving – Chick-Fil-A also has a history of providing community service to the local communities in which they conduct business. These services include food donations, supporting the needy and providing assistance to other organizations that provide community service. Chick-Fil-A prides itself on going beyond the workings of its restaurant.
3. Leadership & Family Enrichment Programs – Chick-Fil-A’s founder was also devoted to helping young society succeed in life.
