The time where missionaries have been going around teaching tribes and african americans about God and new technology has been growing more controversial as time goes on. Sure it help the tribes who are unfamiliar with the new discoveries brought from the missionaries, but they already have a set lifestyle, religion, family orientation, teaching, and many more things that shaped the tribes, so taking all that away and forcing them to go to a new religion is wrong in a lot of ways. In Chinua Achebe’s book Things Fall Apart, the main character, Okonkwo has to not only face these drastic changes, but face his own personal losses as well and how it conflicts a character like him.
