Target Marketing is when an organization targets a specific group of customers through advertising their products and service (Hill, 2011). All organizations use advertising to draw in customers; however in targeting customers not all organizations are ethical. There are organizations that practice unethical behaviors while advertising. Organizations are looking to sell their product but first have to target a specific group, however, in doing so organizations need to be ethical in the process. Sure organizations are anxious but being honest and ethical will prevent consequences in the long run. Organizations have to be able to interact with their customers. Organizations need to advise customers and appeal to personal and culture habitual environments they are targeting. Mixed Chicks is a small business in the United States that developed hair care product for multicultural hair. This product targets biracial individuals. Mixed chick has products such as shampoo, leave in conditioner, and deep conditioner. Kim Etheredge and Wendi Levy founders of Mixed Chick are biracial women. Both women had tried ordinary and ethnic hair care product for years. Although trying different product did not help their hair the two women put their heads together and produced Mixed Chick products. I believe Mixed Chick Products appeals to biracial individuals. If individuals were to research these products, they would find that this product said for any race. I beg to differ; I believe the product was produced for biracial individuals. Mixed Chick Products has a slogan saying “these curly hair products will have you embracing those luscious locks” (Mixed Chicks, 2012). This company is attempting to sell their product to individuals with curly hair. I believe it is unethical for the founders to say this product is for all races but advertise with biracial
