The presentation of interest on TED was: What really happens when you mix medications? By Russ Altman. Review Dr. Russ Altman lectured on the effects of mixing medications. Patients all around the globe have multiple medications that they intake on a daily basis. Such medication as high blood pressure, psoriasis, depression, and any other illnesses that would cause a patient to take medication. The advancement of medication and its chemicals can help a patient with either halting the process of the disease, easing the symptoms and pain, or possibly curing the illness or disease. There has been scientific studies administrated to find out what the cause-and-effect of certain medications because however, there has not been a study in what the effects are in relation to mixing medications such as high blood pressure medication and depression. In order to completely understand the realm of this the interaction of two different medications is to compile information regarding the cause-and-effects of the various medications. “If you take two different medications for two different reasons, here’s a sobering thought: your doctor may not fully understand what happens when they’re combined, because drug interactions are incredibly hard to study” (Altman, 2015). …show more content…

Altman discussed how a study was conducted to find out how interacting drugs such as high blood pressure and depression influences the body. The FDA provides data for the public reflecting what drugs and diseases patients which in turn; shows how the interactions of drugs Dr. Altman and one of his students decided to further investigate how these two drugs interact to the body and the causes.
