He soon finds out that it contains tapes of Hannah Baker, a fellow student who is gone forever. In fact, she was incredibly suicidal. Clay was also a liar. He wanted to listen to the tapes in private. So, he told his mom that he was sleeping over at a friends, when, in reality, he was going to Rosie’s, an ice cream place in town. One example of that is Jessica and Bryce. During the party, Jessica got a tiny bit drunk and her boyfriend Justin took her into a room to lie down. Later, Bryce came in after some time persuading Justin and he raped Jessica. Another example also involved Bryce and Hannah is also included. A few weeks later there was another party. In the after-party, which was Bryce and Jessica in his hot tub, he invited Hannah in. After a while, Jessica got out and, after she left, Bryce started molesting Hannah.
