MLK’S Speech How did Martin Luther King’s speech change the world? “I Have a Dream” changed our world because he had many followers and believers. He spoke for people to have rights and to be equal. Not judged for skin tones. People were just people.
In the speech, “I Have a Dream,” Martin Luther King talked about how the United States is segregated and how he had a dream of peace with equality for all; everywhere, let freedom ring. Everyone, no matter their color, should have the same rights. Also instead of being violent, people need to be peaceful and “Not drink from the fountain of bitterness.” King truly spoke from his heart instead of just stating the big picture. King used Pathos and Logos excellently.
He states in his speech “Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes His aid against the other.” By saying this, he establishes that both whites and blacks are equal and the only difference between them is the color of their skin. This creates a very valid point and establishes his morals and ethics. This also shows his ability as a leader to put aside racial, ethical, and religious differences in the ability to treat everyone fairly and just. In this day and time, blacks, as well as women, were treated not as citizens of the united states, but as just residents will less than acceptable rights for human beings.

Dr. King uses so many different types of appeals in his speech. he generalizes that all men are equal and he also states that America has not made good on the unpaid check which I personally agree that why should we have to pay the government? Dr. King uses ethos by saying America is to be a great nation, this must become true. Dr. King with his speech of "Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today my friends" here Dr. King uses pathos when using this specific speech.
