There are a lot of things that have made Mississippi what it has became today. Mississippi has come through a lot of different things. People, events, and ideas from the past has really shaped and formed the modern day Mississippi in many ways. Some of the things that made Mississippi and had a great affect on our state includes the following: Mississippi Blues Music, The American Civil War, the famous casinos, food and attractions. Blues music is a huge part of Mississippi. The distinctive sound was born into the hands and hearts of the Mississippi Delta. B.B King and muddy waters were two of many artists that transformed this new sound into something breathe taking, and sent it out for the rest of the world to hear. As this new sound spread across the world, the term “Juke Joint” went along with it. Most of the early blues were being played in these Juke Joints. When this music is played today, it takes us to our roots. Blues music has made a big impact on the modern Mississippi. It also helped form the state and its people into what it is today. Another important fact about Mississippi includes the states participation in the Civil war. Most of this took place in Vicksburg, Mississippi. It was one of the most deadliest wars ever taken place. Mississippi has opened up several casinos in several areas of Mississippi. These casinos offer a lot of different foods and attractions that have made Mississippi attractive to a lot of visitors.
