Emotions are felt during memories, mostly happiness and sadness. Feeling these emotions can be hard sometimes because of someone you may have lost. But you need to appreciate the memories you have instead of getting down because of your emotions and thoughts. In the memoir "Molly", by Anne Atwell. We read a story about a family pet and it shows happiness and Sadness throughout the story through memories of the family pet. The theme of the emotions of memories resonates through this memoir. Happiness and Sadness are the only emotions felt during memories, because of emotions, thoughts, and love. Memories can be influenced because of emotions you feel during those memories. The main character has a lot of mixed emotions during her memories the emotions felt contradict between happiness and sadness. Throughout the story the main character experiences lots of memories with Molly. Some of these memories are happy and some are sad this is because of the beliefs she has regarding those memories. Atwell shows how the characters mind can shift between happiness my sadness because of these thoughts. One sentence that supports this claim is "For a moment I forgot that anything was wrong, so when the memory of what happened over the past few days hit me I felt overwhelmed" (A-1). This points out how thoughts can really affect how your memories are felt because they can change how you look at a whole situation. Anne totally forgot what was going on with Molly because when she saw Molly in her house, her thoughts took over her memories and she thought that everything was fine. However though once her thoughts and memories of what was going in set in she realized that not everything was okay. It proved how her thoughts could take over a situation and make you think something
