Herbert White, focal character of "The Monkey's Paw is the vital person from the family who works and support financially of his family. Moreover, one day he brought a monkeys paw that was tried to destroy by Morris (he is a major in this story). Morris wanted to destroy it due to the power of monkey’s paw as it is known by all that it has the ability to fulfill the three wishes. However, Herbert’s family did not believe it at all and he wished 200 pounds as he needed it at that time due to pay the home loan.
