First, there are explosions, shouting and the impacts of feet hitting hot hard concrete. Then, a single gunshot, a flash of light, then nothing. Absolutely nothing, which is surprisingly difficult to visualize. Koaye Anderson then finds herself in a simple white land. There is no wildlife, no wind or water, and no sky. It is all bright white and funnily enough, she is able to see even though there is no light source. Before the flash of light, she was wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt, but now, she is wearing a long white flowing robe which has the same flow as her long black hair; she is barefoot. She has defined eyebrows, modest straight nose and lips that are not too thin nor too fat. She has eyes of the most vibrant sky blue. She does …show more content…

“Who is that?” Koaye asks, pointing to the baby. “You will know who she is in due time” he says, pressing a button and the picture changes. It shows a little girl being abused by her parents. They are located in a house that has fallen into disrepair, there are cracks in the walls and a mess of clothing and food on the ground.“Quick! We must help her!” says Koaye. “There is nothing we could do” he replies. The screen then shows the parent, back to the screen, taking in a drug; jabbing a dirty needle under the skin and pressing down on the needle aggressively. The little girl then cries in front of her drugged parent. “This girl's parents were only loving in the beginning of her life,” the man says. “When she was 12, she ran away.” he pressed a button, then the screen shows a girl running through the night, with a look of fear on her face. The man continues, “A rich family found her on the streets, defenseless and hungry. They took her home and treated her as their own family member. She continued to attend school” He presses a button, and the screen shows the same girl, a little older now, studying in a …show more content…

The man turns off the screen “Why did you not like this next president?” “He disparaged my girlfriends and has outrageous plans for our country, I could not accept the fact that this man won” “This girl did not accept it either” says the man, turning the TV back on, showing the girl on the floor crying as she is watching the orange man winning the election, his fist up in victory with a crooked smile on his wide face. “The girl was determined and angry” said the man. “She would do anything to assure that he would not take the reigns of that country” he continues, “So she was determined to express her feelings by marching with millions of other women a few months later” he presses a button and it showed that same woman, now a little older, marching and shouting in the street holding a sign opposing the new president.
