The setting of this novel, Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, is set in a big city like Chicago or New York City. The book was wrote in 1953, but placed in 2053. The mood of this novel is mysterious and dark because there are multiple occasions where very sad things occur. The book is depressing as well. There is a great deal of death that takes place too. Guy Montag is the main protagonist throughout the novel. Montg is married to Mildred (Millie) Montag. He is 30 years old and has been a fireman for 10 years. Montag is a very curious, thinks on his own type of person. ‘“What’ve you got there?”’ (19.) By Montag asking this question to Clarisse you can infer that he is curious about what she’s doing. Mildred (Millie) Montag is married to Guy Montag. Mildred is brainwashed, depressed, and clueless. She is so depressed that she tried overdosing on sleeping medication to get out of the society they live in. She is addicted to sleeping meds and is brainwashed by society. ‘“What?
