The Moores School Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Ensemble performed the Swingin’ In The Opera House at the Moores Opera House. I didn’t really have any expectations in mind and previous experience would be going to middle school and high school orchestra performances. When I first walked into the Moores Opera House, I saw that everyone was on stage with their instruments. There were chairs and stands also on the stage in front of the musicians. Also when we had walked in they were just playing music and it sounded pretty good.

He was from Pontiac, Michigan. He was an American jazz musician, composer, arranger, and bandleader. He played the trumpet, cornet, and flugelhorn. He wrote music in the Twentieth Century from 1954 to 1986. His genres included Bebop, hard bop, mainstream jazz, and post bop. At the age of sixteen, he began to perform professionally. Thad Joseph served in the U.S. Army bands during World War II from 1943 to 1946 and included the association with the U.S. Military School of Music.
Some lesson content that could be used to prepare students for this concert is that to be able to sit and listen to the music of the instruments. For children it could get tedious and tiring sitting and listening. So to prepare them you could introduce them to Jazz orchestra and ensemble music. You could also make a connection to social studies and history about the background of the songs and to Jazz Music in general.
I didn’t have much expectations to begin with for the concert. I usually go to pop and modern concerts so I think this was a nice change of environment. It was similar to previous experiences but a little different in the way that the conductor provides background about the pieces and introduces them before playing them. I really liked this because it allowed for me to understand what was being played. I believe it helped me expand my horizons beyond just pop modern concerts. I overall enjoyed the
