Morrie did not fear of dying but embraced it. He thought that once you understood that you are going to die, you will enjoy the time you have left. The author also uses flashbacks to portray the theme. It states, “It is 1979, a basketball game in the Brandeis gym. The team is doing well, and the student section begins a chant, “We’re number one!
After a few years of those, I imagine death presents like a holiday at the beach. When someone dies it can have a very concentrated impact on someone. “So eden sank to grief.” When Johnny passed away in the hospital, dally felt he had nothing to live for. “Johnny died, my soul died.”
This example portrays that when you die you are not forgotten, you are apart of a whole world and a million ways that you will be remembered. Once you die you are not going to be a thing of the past. You have people that will cherish you forever. This helped give the reader more comprehension on what he was talking about with death this whole time. This quote connected something else Morrie said, “‘... death ends life not a relationship’”
In a time so close to death you have you hold on to the little you have and face the fact the life you are living. Times like that you realize a lot and appreciate life in a different perspective.
Death is not so light a concept as to glance off of those it does not take. Oftentimes, when death claims someone close to you, it seems easy to fall into a lethargic pit of despair, contenting oneself only to dwell on the morose incontrollable nature of the universe. I know I felt this way, especially with the guilt laid upon me with the death of my brother. I do not claim to know anyone else’s grief, or to know the best way for anyone to deal with the loss of such a beloved girl. I do know, however, that “when you lose something you love, faith takes over” (Tan 2166).
A question in life that isn’t asked often enough is, “Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? Every, every minute?” People rarely take a step back and ponder about how fortunate they are to encounter the little things in life; the things like eating, sleeping, exercising, conversing, and more. They take it all for granted. The idea of death may seem like the end, but really it is the beginning of a new experience.
He states “The truth is, once you learn how to die, you learn how to live” (82). The only issue Morrie seems to see with this is many people don’t learn how to die early enough to live. Morrie doesn’t think that people believe in the inevitability of death, as he says “‘Everyone knows they’re going to die,’ he said again, ‘but nobody believes it. If we did, we would do things differently’” (81).
Death is an unavoidable aspect of the human experience, but it's a subject that many of us avoid discussing. Some argue, however, that by confronting our mortality, we can learn to live more fully and deeply appreciate life. In the book Tuesdays with Morrie, it follows two characters, Mitch and Morrie. The discussion of the answer after learning of death can be depicted in Tuesdays with Morrie with the lesson plans Morrie and Mitch discuss throughout the book. The question asked is, by what is revealed through research and the book, prove the truth in the following quote: "The truth is, Mitch," he said, "once you learn how to die, you learn how to live."
Death is not the end, but a new start, and the most anyone can try to do is enjoy the story before the next one takes its
“When you learn how to die, you learn how to live” (Albom, pg.104) This is Morrie’s outlook through the whole book, He knows death is on his doorstep but does not let it consume his life. He still continues to live each day as normal as his body allows him to. Morrie has a positive way of explaining detachment to Mitch. He describes the feeling of fear he first had when his coughing spells first appeared.
For my project of I did a timeline of Morrie's aphorisms. For each Tuesday Mitch visited Morrie I wrote about two aphorisms said on that Tuesday. I ordered the aphorisms from my favorite to my least favorite. All of aphorisms where wisdom, but some the wisdom didn't apply to me so that is why they where my least favorite. I chose the color black because I wanted to show that I mourn for Morrie.

Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 19th, in the year of 1809. Even though he was born in Boston, he grew up in Baltimore, which was where his father was born.
Death let Morrie tell his story so that the nation could hear all about the professor from Brandeis University. But overall, death is the great equalizer. People are worried about showing emotion because it shows they actually feel something and don 't want to be viewed as weak. This is where death being the great equalizer sets into motion. Death was a wake-up call for Mitch.
From the beginning, children are taught to fear the concept of death. Most people spend their lives fearing death, but it’s not death that they are afraid of. It is part of nature to die, and our minds know that, what scares most people is the thought of death before they have had time to accomplish what they want in life. In “When I Have Fears That I May Cease to Be,” John Keats put into words how people feel about dying before they have been successful in whatever mission they have set forth for themselves. His poem touches the reality of people’s feelings though imagery and figurative language.
When you hear the word death or you hear that someone has died today in the news or on the television I know a lot of people think “Man, I feel sorry for the family that they have to go through that.” or they thank god that it was not them or their family members.” Sadly though people try to push away death and push away the fact that everyone dies at one point in time. This is even truer when they witness their own family member in the hospital with a critical condition that the doctors cannot fix even with modern medicines on the doctor’s side. Another such time would be when a person’s family member is diagnosed with an incurable sickness that is fatal.
