To Mr. Smith, Today I am writing this letter to you, to talk about the book Beloved. To my understanding you believe that Morrison only focuses on the women and portrays the male characters to be weak. I can’t agree. Yes, the story is based on a mother who kills her child so that’s the main focus of the plot, but Morrison recognizes the males of the story as well. Some things that these men may have endured may have put them down, but by these men moving forward with their lives shows their strength. For example, Sixo walks sixty miles in thirty-four hours, with only an hour of rest, and time enough to say hello to his Thirty- Mile woman. Morrison displays Sixo to be a loving and patient person. He cherishes his lover, and his funny mistakes
