Have you ever had a secret you felt that you could share with only one person? Juliet’s partner in crime, the Nurse, would always be there for her. The Nurse and Juliet share a mother-daughter relationship, where the Nurse playfully jokes around, delivers messages, and desires for a durable relationship with Juliet. The Nurse can be a joker when dealing with Juliet. Juliet sent the Nurse out to ask if Romeo would marry her. When the Nurse came back, she jokes around with Juliet jesting, “ I am aweary; give me leave awhile...do you not see that I’m out of breath?” (Shakespeare 524). After much pleading, the Nurse tells her she’s getting married. The Nurse also joked a lot about when Juliet was young and did childish things, “I’ll never shall forget,” (Shakespeare 494) the Nurse chattered. She bragged a lot about Juliet until Lady Capulet scolded, “Enough of this, I pray thee hold thy peace.” (Shakespeare 494).
