In the novel, Pride and Prejudice, the characters show their own distinct personalities. The reader can relate to her character’s because of the universal dynamics of human relationships. In the time of Regency England, some important elements for a successful life were status or class level, a good marriage and happiness. Today, some would consider that a good job and education go hand in hand along with a good marriage, owning your own home and money to support your family. The same complex qualities in today’s relationships are similar to those in the novel and that is why it has endured today.
Our first enduring character, Mrs. Bennett, reminds us of the snoopy lady who peers outside the window to see what the neighbors are doing. This character can be described as annoying.
