Everyone needs help in their life at some point in time. A person who helps another out is a mentor. A mentor tries to do all they can to help others out. In Edward Bloor’s novel Tangerine, Luis Cruz is the mentor because he gives advice, aids, and is a positive figure towards Paul. First, being the mentor, gives advice to Paul.
On an ordinary Sunday in the beginning of December of 1941, the Japanese wreaked havoc across the United States. The American naval base of Pearl Harbor had been bombed and World War Two began. Simultaneously, internment camps were formed in the United States where the Japanese were held, while at the same time, prisoner camps were formed in Japan where American soldiers were held captive. In relation to the tremendous post war effects, the two main characters in Fairwell to Manzanar by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston and James D. Houston and Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand experienced the unimaginable in these camps leaving both of them with a changed mentality.

In Bucknell University’s production of Marisol by Jose Rivera, one of the central themes is chaos and the effects of chaos. This theme of chaos is in part seen through the inconsistent timeline of the play. Chaos is also seen through the development of the main characters Marisol, June, and Lenny. Jose Rivera’s purpose in writing about chaos is to parallel the real life experiences of so many people before and even now that live the lives of his characters in Marisol. The chaos is present to give voice to the real people who lived in uncertainty, enduring the insane events of the play.

Considered fortunato a friend Although he only saw him as an acquaintance and because of this he caused Montresor great pain which later turned to montresor leaving fortunato to die. As said in the text, fortunato caused him “THE thousand injuries”( Poe 2). Because of causing montresor this pain that wasn 't explained explicitly.
In the book “Two Kinds” by Amy Tan, it’s about a little girl who is pressured by her mother to become something she doesn’t want to be. Jing- mei , the daughter, is forced to become a prodigy(child actress), by her mother, and she doesn’t want to be one. In the story, Jing- meis’ mother uses allusions such as Shirley Temple to push her into becoming a prodigy. Although at first Jing- mei is excited to become a prodigy, she later realizes its something she just doesn’t enjoy doing. Consequently, the uses of allusion in the story help Jing- mei discover to not be a prodigy and that what her mother wants for her is not always important.
As the story progresses it becomes exceptionally evident the role external conflict plays in creating Montresor’s character. To begin, Montresor mentions “the thousand injuries of Fortunato” and the revenge he is determined to get from the most recent injury, an insult (Poe 543). By Montresor choosing to open the story with remarks about Fortunato’s wrong doings towards him, it’s clear that he holds a grudge. These conflicts between the two men throughout their friendship have had such an impression on Montresor that it’s over taken him – it’s all he can think about; thus, he immediately mentions these conflicts at the beginning of the story. In result, Montresor as a character appears quite hostile and as a narrator appears unreliable.

It refers to lower class. The term lower class illustrates people who are poor and they work under upper class people,people who are wealthy and well-bread such as Mr Birling. It also demonstrates that Mr Birling is angry because he thinks that Eva Smith is to blame for putting him in this situation.
Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is an interesting children’s picture book. The main character is a little boy named Max, who has a wild imagination. He uses all five senses as well as thought and his actions to express his personality as well as how he reacts and interacts with his surroundings. Max’s id, ego and super-ego are greatly shown in this book through the way that the author has portrayed him. Not only is this book a children’s story, but it can also be perceived as a life lesson.
People learn little from success, but much from failure. In a story by William Steig a little mouse named Doctor De Soto shows the meaning of success and hard work. Doctor De Soto and his wife dodge a not so sly fox. Doctor De Soto and his wife plan ahead to trick a not so sly fox as they knew that the fox would back stab them and try to eat them as a delicious snack , but as the fox thinks he's about to have a delicious snack Doctor De Soto and his wife had a surprise for the fox, they glue the sly ungrateful fox's mouth shut. In this story you would look though and find many Habits of Mind traits, they're 16 different traits in the Habits of Mind including Striving for Accuracy, Thinking Flexibly, and Thinking Interdependently which will be used and explained in the next few paragraphs.
