Rumors Magazine Featuring the town of Salem Visiting Salem I received a lot of information on Mr. John Proctor's beliefs. Salem is a small city located at the North Shore of Massachusetts and it is in the county of Essex. When visiting I decided to interview Mr. John Proctor about the Salem Witch Trials and what he believed was happening. My goal was to decide if John Proctor was lying throughout any of the interview and if he had any involvement in the witch trials. With the questions I asked, Mr. Proctor was not straightforward with me and his answers continued to go back and forth with his beliefs; which makes me believe witches do not exist in Salem and he is not telling truth. Proctor including questions about Proctor's wife, his beliefs, and other rumors I have heard about. A big rumor that triggered me was that Mr. John Proctor was sleeping with a lady other than his wife by the name of Abigail. At this time I believe there are not witches walking the roads of Salem. Proctor first stated he did not believe in spirits or witches, but after awhile of questioning his beliefs began to change. When asked about his beliefs, Proctor told me he did not believe in witches and this was all made up. Proctor said he did not believe in witches and everything that was said or happening was made up. Proctor told me his belief in Christianity in very strong. With the Salem Witch Trials Proctor still does not believe in witches, he describes the whole scene of the trials as staged. Proctor came across as a good Christian man, but then he lied. When Proctor was asked again, proctor stated that he would accuse Elizabeth for being a witch because she was acting out-of-hand and that was how witches were seemed to act. With these statements, you can see Proctor had changed his story about his beliefs.
