In George Orwell's political satire book, Animal Farm, the minor character Moses is the especial pet of Mr. Jones who can be described as a mysterious yet hopeful raven. If he were to wear shoes, they would reflect the hope he brings by being a modern sneaker with bright colors. Upon first impression, Moses appears to be a dark, mysterious, lazy, and untrustworthy bird. So a darker colored, slick shoe would be most appropriate. Except, in this case, through his tales of Sugarcandy Mountain, an afterlife free of oppression and hunger for animals, he becomes this lighthearted, inspiring, kind character. His clever talking, laziness, and spy-like behavior would convert to a modern yet comfortable sneaker. For instance, he is described as " ...Mr. Jones's especial pet, was a spy and a tale-bearer, but he was also a clever talker. " Hence the sneaker design to represent his sneakiness. Depicted on the shoe itself would be candy, sweets, and neon colors. On one side of the shoe there would be the Sugarcandy mountain line with a golden path, covered with gumdrops, leading to the heavenly mountains. All throughout the land you would see sweet treats such as candy, ice cream, cake, and much more. As Moses describes, " ...the everlasting fields of clover and the linseed cake and lump sugar growing on the hedges. " For the rest of the shoe, sprinkles would be scattered and the quote " He claimed to know of the existence of a mysterious country called Sugarcandy Mountain, to which all animals went when they died. " Since this is what he is remembered for. In short, if the character Moses were to have a shoe designed after him, it would consist of bright colors, a sneaker shoe, and Sugarcandy Mountain.
