South Korea used to be one whole country with North Korea until the Korean War split them apart in 1948. South Korea is a very interesting country with a long history that goes back to August 15, 1948. Mr Kim Koo was a very important man in South Korea in the 1950’s. Mr. Kim Koo was born August 29, 1876, in South Hwanghae Province, North Korea. Mr. Kim Koo’s real name is Baekbeom. Mr. Kim Koo was a well know Korean Nationalist. Mr. Koo also worked very hard during the “Korean War” or the “Cold War”. Mr. Koo’s overall goal was for North and South Korea to unite again to one country. Mr. Kim Koo died June 26th, 1949. South Korea lowered the taxes when more the population started to increase by a lot. This also helped increase the amount of goods coming into their country. Markets though we're very slow to develop thought of the amount of food coming in and many people starting markets of their own. Slavery also went down a lot because of all the amount of population and the food income just because they were just not needed anymore. The government wasn't very rich because of all the debt they were in after the Korean War. When they lowered taxes because of population increase they became even more poor. There were downfalls for South Korea again. The government became weaker because of the debt of the United Stated for the war. There was a lot of hunger, money, and safer living for the people of South Korea. Riots broke out for a new government election which happened throwing the country into a complete anarchy. The different races were Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Whites, and other races. The Koreans come from Korea. The Chinese traveled by boats, wagons, or walking. The Japanese travel the same way the Chinese do. The whites traveled on boats on the Ocean. Immigration in South Korea in 1950 was 51,085,526. This number increased a lot after the Korean War. There were also several churches in South Korea. A Christian Church is the Suncheon Pentecostal Congregation. At this church people come and worship God and give praise to him. A large church is “The Church of the South”. It is a large church and it held 260,000 active members in 1950. It is still an active church today. There are a lot of different religions in South Korea. One is Shamanism, which believes in gods, demons, and spirits, they respond to a priest. Buddhism, and Taoism believe in the same things as Shamanism. ⅓ of the population of South Korea is christianity. They believe in God and they worship and praise him in everything they do.
