BREAKING NEWS: Last week, a fatal happening occurred in St. Petersburg, Missouri. Three grave robbers by the names of Injun Joe, Muff Potter, and Doctor Robinson went out to the local graveyard at around 12:00pm that night. They were out to steal the body of Horse Williams's grave for one of Doctor Robinson's experiments and Joe and Potter were there to help him. In return for they're help, Doctor Robinson payed them before they set out to steal the body. Once the body was out of the coffin, Potter and Joe demanded five more dollars in addition to the pay they already received. Doctor Robinson refused since he had already paid them the amount they agreed upon. Allegedly, Joe had past problems with Doctor Robinson and because of their history, …show more content…

When Potter got up, there was a bloody knife in his stand so he assumed he stabbed Doctor Robinson to death. This was the statement Joe gave during the murder trial. During the trial many witnesses were called to the stand. All of the witnesses stuck to the statement Joe gave and the defense (Muff Potter and his lawyer) did not question a single witness. However, as the trial was winding down, the defense did call one last witness to the stand; a young boy that goes by the name of Thomas Sawyer. It has been reported that Tom a disobedient, troublesome boy who lives in the town where this murder took place. When he took the stand, everyone in the courtroom looked on with amazement. Even Muff Potter was surprised at his presence. All eyes were on Tom as he stood and made his way to the stand. He was trembling with fear and could not speak for a moment when the defense asked their first question. Once he regained his strength to speak, he began answering the questions as rapidly as they came.
