It is a shame about what happened to Mr.Johnson. The old man has never wronged anybody, but he had to die in a sad sadistic way that he did not deserve. Is Mr.Smith insane because of what he did? That is the real question everyone wants to know. In my personal opinion I believe that Mr.Smith is perfectly sane. Mr.Smith is a murderer that should be prosecuted.Mr.Smith is interesting, his behavior is erratic. The misconception that Mr.Johnson is insane is wrong. Mr.Johnson has a complete and perfectly sane thought process. In the story “The Tell-Tale Heart” on page 55 it states, “I heard all things in the heaven’s and in the earth.I heard many things in the hell...observe how healthily-how calmly I can tell this story.” Most people will think he’s insane from this one quote, but no: the point of this sentence is to throw readers off track. Mr.Johnson is sane, he can decipher and understand what is happening. He is trying to prove that he is a sane man that did a bad thing.“I felt the extent of my powers- of my sagacity.
