There are multiple themes in the Pixar film Monsters Inc. directed by Pete Docter. The movie is about Sully and Boo relationship. Sully is a big scary monster and the best at monsters INC. Boo is a little girl who entered the world of monsters. Sully’s goal is to return Boo back home safely. Sully goes from not being able to take care of boo to forming a strong relationship with her. One of the main themes shown by the director is caring for others. In the review of "Monsters, Inc" called "Great Character: sully" Scott Myers talks about the changes sully has gone through with boo. Myers writes about how sully calling the little girl boo and boo calling sully kitty created "a bond that supersedes rationalization and prejudice emerges."I agree with Myers because this is the start of sully and boo forming a bond and also not fearing each other. Myers also writes about the scene, where sully thinks Boo is crushed into the garbage. the author says that when you see sully faint it shows his true compassion for Boo. In that scene, it shows that sully isn't just trying to get rid of Boo, but also cares for her safety.
