When Hae told Adnan that she would be breaking up with him for the final time he was heart-wrenched as if someone had taken a piece of him away. Sadness and anguish continued to consume him more after he found out that Hae would quickly find another partner to share her love with.
How many judicial cases are overturned because of bad evidence? Producer Sarah Koenig tells us about the 1999 murder of Hae Min Lee, an 18-year-old high school student from Baltimore county, Maryland. Her body was found six weeks later in a shallow grave in a local park. Her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed was convicted of her murder the following year on what many consider thin evidence and is now serving a life sentence in prison. Adnan Syed should not have been convicted for the murder of Hae Min Lee.
During this podcast the case was analyzed, new suspects were interrogated, and new evidence brought to light. This case has recently been granted a new trial due to reasonable doubt. At the end of the podcast, the narrator leaves the audience to come to a conclusion themselves. By analyzing the evidence it is evident that Adnan Syed did kill Hae. To begin, the call log found on Adnan’s phone criminalizes Adnan.
On February 9, 1999 Hae Min Lee was found in Leakin Park, Baltimore, Maryland with signs of manual strangulation. The state claimed that Adnan Syed, Hae’s former boyfriend at the time was responsible because they believed he was enraged of their relationship ending. My claim is Adnan Syed is likely not responsible for the death of Hae Min Lee, because there was insufficient evidence to prove he was guilty and the trial was unfair, it was based more on his racial background than the actual case itself. Adnan can be proved innocent with Don’s odd alibi and suspicions.
On January 13, 1999, in Baltimore, Maryland, Woodlawn High School senior Hae Min Lee disappeared. Her body was later found on February 9, 1999 in Leakin Park. The primary suspect of Hae Lee’s murder by strangulation was her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed. He has been convicted of first degree murder and has served 17 years. Through the testimonies of the many witnesses and other evidence collected, it is evident that Adnan Syed is guilty of Hae Min Lee’s murder, however, this is case has grown very controversial, especially after Serial’s release, and many believe the justice system failed Adnan; the members of our society trust our justice system, it is not always perfect, it has flaws, but it is still expected to carry out its function, to protect the innocent, and every time
Adnan Masud Syed, 19, was convicted of murder that sentenced him in prison for life on June 20, 2000. Mr. Syed was accused of strangling his ex girlfriend, Hae Min Lee, 18, and burying her body in Leakin Park on January 13th, 1999. The body was eventually uncovered and Adnan became the primary suspect after an anonymous call was made to the police a few weeks after the crime to investigate Adnan. The prosecutors had stated that Adnan’s motive of murdering Hae was because he was hurt and outraged when they broke up. To counter, the defense attorney had claimed that Adnan was an average American teen, incapable of murder, and he was an honors student at Woodlawn High School.

Serial is a podcast hosted by Sarah Koenig about the mysterious murder of Hae Min Lee and the convinction of Adnan Syed in the year 1999. When Koenig looked over the case in 2014 she decided to investigate into the case on her own. Despite everything that happened to Syed pertaining his arrest many people including his family think he is innocent. I think an expert should have gone over all the details when it came to this case getting down to the bottom of who her killer is. On Januray 13, 1999 eighteen year-old Hae Min Lee disappeared after school in Baltimore, Maryland.
In 2015, 149 people were cleared for crimes they didn’t commit after serving years of time (Ferner). In this case, Adnan Syed isn’t that lucky. In January 1999, Hae Min Lee went missing and was later found dead in Leakin Park. Authorities charged Adnan Syed, Hae’s ex-boyfriend, for her murder.
The hit podcast “Serial”, hosted by Sarah Koenig, is about a man sentenced to jail for first degree murder of “Hae Min Lee”, named “Adnan Syed.” The question is, did he do it? Based on the facts, rumors told in the podcast, and discussions with my peers, I believe that Adnan Syed was rightfully convicted to his crime of murdering “Hae Min Lee” beyond a reasonable doubt. The is biggest suspect to the case is rightfully deserved to be Adnan.
Still people hold on to these tiny mistakes but do not take in count of the clear evidence that shows Adnan 's innocence. Overall, I believe Adnan Syed is innocent of murdering Hae Lee. People who believe
I chose a photograph to rhetorically analyze for this discussion. I saw this photograph on one of my friend's Instagram feed and I had a lot of thoughts about it, so I thought it would be perfect to analyze. My initial reaction to this photograph is thinking how creative, yet strange the imagination of the creator is. Of course, this photograph is lift to interpretation, but I perceived the purpose of the photograph to be of amusement because it makes me laugh and smile every time I see it. Even if you personally do not like cats, I am sure that this photograph will make you smile.
Relationships, lies, murder, conviction. These are all aspects that come into play when talking about the January 13th, 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee. Adnan Syed, Hae’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend was convicted of her murder in 2000. The problem with this is that the only evidence the state had to convict Adnan was the stories told by others, specifically someone named Jay who was with Adnan for some of the day Hae went missing and had possession of Adnan’s car and cell phone. He claims Adnan made him come pick him up after the murder was committed and assist him in burying Hae’s body.
Adnan is Innocent Do you remember what you did on this day, exactly one week ago? You might remember some things about that day, or you might remember nothing. How about if I asked what you did 6 weeks ago on this day? Could you tell me?
