A troubled cop tracks down a killer, but his memory lapses begin to hinder the investigation. BRIEF SYNOPSIS: A family of three is killed and their home burned down by a mysterious man, his face not seen, but known as GARBO. He’s wrapped in a plastic sheet. Detective MARCUS investigates the deaths. He has just come back on the force after taking time off following the murder of his partner, Brody. He believes the killing of this family fits with a pattern of other homicides. His CAPTAIN doesn’t believe there is a pattern and denies there being a serial killer. He seems concerned about them. Marcus has dreams of being a young boy, locked into his room by his grandmother. As a boy, he lit a fire to keep warm and burned down the house. The only thing that survived was his late father’s police badge. “Garbo” attacks and kills Maria and Nina. Their house is set on fire, Marcus is devastated. Bite marks are found on their bodies. Marcus wakes up naked, wrapped up in a plastic sheet. He doesn’t know where he’s at or how he got there. He calls Ellie, who picks him up. A news crew drives by and takes a picture. Marcus convinces Ellie not to report him, but the photo of him is released. The Captain places him on leave. Ellie again finds Marcus covered in blood and disoriented. He doesn’t remember what happened. Ellie is concerned that he somehow has a connection to the killings or that he might be the next victim. He shows Ellie a map of the killings. It seems to form a pattern. Their investigation takes them to the warehouse district and an old seafood factory. Marcus seems to know where he’s going, although he says he’s never been there before. Ellie receives a call from the Captain, but the reception is so poor she can’t clearly hear him. It sounds like he knows who the killer is, but their connection is cut
