Detective Fiction has evolved over time bringing new innovations and creating plot lines that are outside of the extraordinary. There are very few detective fiction stories that could be similar to other detective fiction story. The authors who write detective have such unique minds that they always bring something new to the table when they are creating their masterpieces.
Mystery Fiction first came on to the scene in the mid 19 century wit the help of famous arthur Edgar Allan Poe. Poe was just being the writer that he was and did not expect much to happen after writing just another novel. When they were found Adam Ryan had bloody socks with blood inside of his shoes and four parallel tears in his shirt with no injuries. This was the 80s and DNA was not even a factor so they just tested the blood type to see who it could possibly belong to and it only matched two of the boys and they wondered if there could possibly be a fourth victim. Adam ryan wants to forget about his horrific experience in the woods and does not want to be remembered as one of the kids who went missing in the woods. He has changed his name to Rob who works for the Murder Squad with His partner Cassie Maddox. One day Rob gets a surprise he was never hping for a murder in Knocknaree, a young girl is found deceased. They believe that she was 10-13 years old, head smashed in with a rock, probably raped ,and dumped in the woods. They then start investigation of Katy Devlin’s murder, who could it possibly be? Once he got this case he was motivated to find out what had happened in the past and possibly even avenge the deaths of his friends. He wanted to see what was the truth behind this forest and how these deaths in these woods could be stopped.
He also plays a big role in the plot because he is a victim in the very beginning of the story and is later mixed up in things such as affairs, investigations, and lies. This story relies heavily on lies, misconceptions, past memories, jealousy, and violence. Everyone throughout the story tells a lie through the story such as their name, their feelings and even their age that affects the development of the story. Memories play a big role in the story line of Rob, as he was once in the same woods that this young lady had been found dead and he reminisces that time he was in her same shoes. Violence also plays a big key role because the scene he was found at when his friends went missing he was left a very brutal scene. Katy was also killed in a very violent way, to have your head smashed in is not the best way to go.
