Musa vs. Moses The Qur’an is the islamic equivalent to the christian bible. The Qur’an and Bible have a lot of similar incidents and people. For example The temptation Adam and eve and their removal for paradise, the murder of Abel by his brother Cane, Noah and the flooding of the earth, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob, Joseph, Moses are in the Bible and Quran. Although Christianity and Islam are very much alike Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and died and was resurrected after three days his death. Muslims believe in the holy power of Jesus and believe that Jesus performed miracles but they do not believe that Jesus is the son …show more content…

However Moses’ mother was told by God to let him go into the river and he be restored to her. After she obeys God comes on of the first differences in the Qur’an than the Bible. In the bible Moses is found by the pharaohs daughter who convinced him to keep him. However In the Qur’an Moses was actually found by the pharaohs wife who convinced the pharaoh to keep Moses (wolf 102, paragraph 4). The Quran goes further into detail explaining how Moses would not except milk from egyptian nurses, and his sister miriam suggested his mother as his nurse furthermore restoring Moses to his mother. The Qur’an also mentions that “Moses cradle had healing powers and healed the pharaohs daughter from leprosy” (wolf 102, paragraph 4). The bible and Qur’an both contain this section of the story. The Qur’an and Bible break apart when they get to mount Sinai where God wrote the ten commandments. In the bible after the commandments were written the people wanted to see God and once they saw God they fell dead at the sight of his glory. This is one of the few stories in the bible that doesn't appear in Qur’an. The Bible is a little more harsh in the punishments of the Israelites in the Wilderness. For instance while Moses was in the mountains and the Israelites built a golden statue of a gold bull and though the Qur’an says that Miriam was the instigator the Bible Aaron, Miriam, Dothan, Korah, Jambre were all rejected by God because of this event. Were as in the Qur’an Aaron and Miriam were reproved. However those who violated the sabbath where turned into apes.

In conclusion Moses is a huge part of both Christianity and Islam. From my research and things we have been taught in class I now know that Islam and Christianity are very closely related religions and share many of the same stories and character. I observed that in many cases the Qur’an went deeper into detail about events from the Bible. Saying this the Bible and Qur’an have several differences thorough the major parts of the story and moses life like his savior from the Pharaohs wraith. Was it the pharaoh's wife or daughter? The Qur’an also gives a more distinct
