The argument that the Pleasantville School should require students to complete 40 hours of community service prior to graduation is built on some weak assumptions that fail to support the point and convince the reader. and it also misses some major points in discussing the issue in hand. First , the argument mentions that the number of teenage volunteers has declined, but it doesn`t investigate the reasons that made teenagers refuse the community services. it would be better for the writer to tell us what caused the problem in order to know what would the best solution to it be.

During the mid 1800s, the pro-slavery argument was at its strongest. The Proslavery Argument by Boundless, an online textbook, discusses the famous Mudsill Speech of James Henry Hammond which stated that the pro-slavery political argument, an ideology that defended a class-sensitive view of American antebellum society. I enjoyed the topic of the Annotation 1 worksheet, because I personally disagreed with the stance of the author. The Article argues that disallowing welfare users to spend their food stamp money on sugary drinks would allow users to lead healthier lives, but I do not think that the situation is that black and white. According to the article, “They would still receive every penny of support they now get, meaning they would have as much, if not more, to spend on nutritious food” (Farley). I believe that health can be a social construct, and what might be healthy to one person might not be healthy to another, and banning sugary drinks, does not mean that welfare users will go further in the act and make healthier decisions about everything purchased.
There are many schools in the world for many people. There are schools in China, USA, Canada and in much more places. All those schools are for fully able people, people who can hear and see properly. Have you ever wondered how Deaf and blind people go to school, get around obstacles, and do things that everyday people do? Things started to change in 1857 when the first trace of Gallaudet University existed.
In this day and age it is impossible to engage on social media, without being witness to, or involved in an argument. Following the largest mass shooting in our countries history this past weekend, I deliberately engaged in several arguments. Admittedly most of those arguments were driven out of emotion, rather than reason or even facts. Occasionally, the dialog would glean pearls of wisdom and new information steeped in data that made sense, swaying ones conventional wisdom about a topic. In general, assessing whether an argument is a good one based on subtle changes in how you feel about a topic is accurate but in reality the argument lacks true components of an academic argument.
Musicians are “great problem solvers in school and social situations” because they have a stronger corpus callosum, the part of the brain that connects the two halves.(Berman) When an outsider joins band their minds are opened into a whole new world. This is because when a person is making music there is not only one place in the brain that is being activated. A musician is using parts of the brain that have to do with the visual, auditory, and motor functions of the brain. People who play a musical instrument are working multiple parts of their brain at once making it easier for them to remember information more.

Even so, the obvious choice would be the prestigious STEM fields over liberal arts due to the instant job opportunities which are seemingly ludicrous to a recent graduate. This is far from the truth. For one, music doesn’t cause any changes to your brain that “make you smarter”. A Harvard University study finds that the widely accepted claim of “Music makes you smarter” is actually false, because the cognitive benefit of music was either insignificant or non-existent. Boston college psychology professor Ellen Winner backs this up by saying that trying to justify music by saying it will make you good at math is misguided. This proves that the claim most commonly used by supporters of music classes holds very little water.
Introduction Roger’s and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music is arguably one of the most well known films that many can admit to watching at least once in their lifetime. People all around the world have found this musical inspiring, as it documents growth and hope amidst the horrors of World War II. This incredibly well written film is based on the story of the Von Trapp family who escaped Austria when the Nazis invaded it during the war. Part of what made this movie so interesting on so many different accounts was the music that accompanied the vivid and exciting scenes. Without music, many could agree that our world would be a sad, quiet, dull and depressing place.
