In a time in European history, there was an era from the 5th to the 15th century known as the Middle Ages. The Middle Ages can often be referred to as the “Medieval period”, where buildings looked gloomy as they were made from gray cobblestone, and mankind was still in any idea of innovation, as they had no inspiration. Then during the 14th century, philosophy, art, and music were made exclusive, and became to some degree inspirational. Little did anyone know that was the beginning of a new era known as the Renaissance. Which was slowly but surely building a bridge which would lead the Middle Ages to the Modern Era.

The best description of this time period can be represented by four terms, the Golden Age, the Dark Age, the Age of Faith and the Age of Feudalism. Each time caused for a significant change in society that had a tremendous impact. From the troubling times of invasions and destructions to a time of prosperity and progression, the best terms that describe the Middle Ages are the Dark Ages and the Golden Ages.

The Medieval Ages were a time where many things like romance, art, music, poetry, disease and death all thrived. Everyone in this time period had a different point of view on it. Some thought it was a golden age, some thought it was an age of feudalism, and some also thought it was a dark age. Yes, this time may have had its ups, but it also had many, many downs. Its darkest times consisted of Barbarian invasions, death, and wars.
Many labels were used to characterize the Middle Ages, however the best were The Dark Ages, The Age of Feudalism, and The Age of Faith. The Dark Ages accurately identifies the Middle Ages because of all the death, destruction, and plague throughout. The Middle Ages followed the decline of the Roman Empire, which causes very harsh times across Europe. Also this time period consists of the plague which virtually slaughters one-third of Europe.
In the 1800’s slavery was a key part of the southern part of the United States, but it took away the basic human rights of African Americans. Many of these people and lots of people in the north created a movement to end slavery called the Abolitionist movement. The Abolitionist movement was a very important movement with some important members including Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman. The Abolitionist movement was completely against slavery. They demanded the immediate release of all slaves in the United States.
The church was the only thing that survived and provided stability, order, and security. An Empire, ran by the idea of a churchly kingdom evolved. It was a progressive age in the sense of invention and art. A prominent difference between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance was the change from a religiously fueled society to a belief in a more secular world, and a stronger focus on humanism. The Renaissance reached to an end in the late sixteenth mid seventeenth century. The churches loss a lot of power and grasp of feeling of independence, human expression and investigation led to envy, treason, murder, violence and theft. But than again the Renaissance were the ones that painted the way to a lot of achievements and inventions in a lot of different areas of culture, society, science, religion and modern day life. A lot more advances were proficient during this era that kept on being increased in value, considered and developed in modern day. The Renaissance had a huge influenced on the establishment America was based on and keeps on effecting how American culture and society exist today.
During the Renaissance, art cascaded throughout Europe. This was the beginning of a new age filled with advanced ideas and inspiration. The music era started in 1400 during the Renaissance and grew, later leading to baroque times. As music expanded, people portrayed what they were hearing. Music was used during mass, in chapels, and to express composers feelings.
The Black Death During the fourteenth century many things began to change such as medieval, renaissance, and late gothic art styles began to exist. During this time period not only did the art change but the music also changed because music began to get a lot darker and not as uplifting as it used to be. Many different types of art and music started to become very different when something very bad happened which was the Black Death.
The medieval times lasted from the 6th century to the 16th century. The medieval era wasn 't a pleasant time for people to be alive as it was a time were punishments and trials were really harsh and dangerous. During this time, it was easy for people to commit a crime. Crimes that are now seen as something insignificant were perceived as a horrible offence such as sleeping on the streets and talking behind peoples back. The society in the medieval times were organized by the feudal System.
Furthermore, there is a vast need for additional research. There is a necessity to gain knowledge on risk factors and on ways to prevent suicide in order to aid nursing home residents (Bugeja et al., 2015, p. 811). The knowledge of preventing suicide in a nursing home can be helpful for residents as well as for social services. Suicide occurs in nursing homes partially fur to the lack of knowledge on depression. Current research depicts that physicians fail to recognize depression and tend to provide inaccurate treatment (Allgaier, Fejtkova, Hegerl, Kramer, & Mergl, 2009, p. 355).
The name of this era was perfect to represent this season of music. The rebirth of music was evident as secular music became prominent, reflecting its cultural backdrop of humanism. During the Renaissance, vocal music was viewed as more important than instrumental music. Accordingly, much of the music had a smooth, imitative, polyphonic texture with four to six voice parts of nearly equal voice parts.
