A Man Once Referred to by Trump as his African-American is now Criticizing Him Photo Credit: Cheadle for Congress
In an article from LA Times, Gregory Cheadle, a man that was once called by Donald Trump “My African-American” in a campaign rally in Northern California last year is now showing his distaste for the president. During Trump’s speech, he pointed out to Cheadle and told him isn’t he the greatest?
Although many voters around him laughed off Trump’s reference to him, many who were watching on television were apparently not amused by it. A lot of black people were livid the way Trump acknowledged Cheadle as if though he was his slave. However, the attacks on Cheadle continued and was constantly harassed. It even came to a point where he was too scared to leave the house.
Nowadays, Cheadle is now criticizing the president. He suspects that bigotry has consumed Trump’s cabinet and therefore, has limited his appointment on black members of his team. Cheadle retorts that the promises Trump once made to the African-American community was nothing but a false claim.
Cheadle wishes that the president would demonstrate a concern and interest in the country’s black community. He cites examples as adding more black members in his cabinet team, promoting black businesses, and reaching out to black cities. Although Cheadle considers himself as a Republican, his political stand varies from time to time.
He also has criticized the former president Obama’s Obamacare because according to him it did not convince him that the system was intended for the black people. Cheadle believes that both Republicans and Democrats are both greedy. He also cites how almost everyone in the government is
