Amazingly(#3), the protagonist is a young boy named Tim, who is gullible(qa), brave, strong, and often jealous of others(w/w). Tim’s foil is his father, Life, who is a stout, strong, and stubborn (alliteration) man. Tim’s other foil is his brother Sam, a stubborn, mature, intelligent teenager. Throughout (#2) the book, Tim deals with his antagonist, his choice of which side to support (sv) during the war. The minor characters are Tim's mother, Sam's girlfriend, and Tim's helpful friend. My Brother Sam Is Dead is about a boy living during the American Revolution. 2. Throughout My Brother Sam Is Dead, Tim deals with many problems. At the beginning of the book,(#2)Tim's brother Sam runs off to war. While Sam fights in the war,(#5) Tim has to run the farm by himself. When Sam arrives back in Redding, Sam and his father fight and Sam is almost accidentally(ly) killed by Tim in an accidental(qa) gunshot. Tim and his father travel to a larger town to collect supplies. Unfortunately,(#3)Tim's father is captured by rebel soldiers. Later, Tim and his mother find out life died from sickness on a slave ship. After Tim's father's doleful, depressing, death,(alliteration) Sam and the soldiers arrive in Redding, where they plan on staying(asia). Unfortunately,(#3) Tim fails, and Sam prepares for execution. Depressingly, Tim walks home to grab his mother but she refuses and falls into a state of staring at a fire and drinking alcohol. While(#5) trying to understand(sv) his mother's sudden trance, Tim walks to the execution, where unfortunately Sam dies(asia). The moral of the book is that avoiding war can lead to a halcyon(qa) harmonious happy(alliteration) life. Even though Sam dies, Tim eventually moves on and marries a girl and has a family.
