Helping and doing things for people is something I have always enjoyed, and I believe nursing combines these perfectly. I have always liked working with kids and for that reason, I want to be a Neonatal Nurse. A lot of people think that a Neonatal Nurse just has the responsibility of receiving the newborn and feeding it. Even though at times this might be true a Neonatal Nurse has other roles. A Nurse has to track the heartbeat of the babies, check breathing and make sure their respiratory system works.
There are about 205,000 people who work as a nurse practitioner in the US. I do not know about you, but I would like to make the number increase up to 205,001. For many young girls, like myself, want to help save lives and we don’t even have to save their life but just help them. This is why a nurse practitioner would be the best job too have. They don’t do major surgeries or anything like that but they do help just enough to keep someone healthy.
Following my graduation from ASU, I hope to attend Physician Assistant school or medical school. As a medical professional, I would like to work with underserved populations and follow in the footsteps of my grandmother. She worked as a nurse at a large corporate hospital, but also volunteered her knowledge and time at a local free clinic. My grandmother found time to give back despite raising four kids and a hectic night shift schedule. I hope to set a similar example, and always manage to give back to my community.
Hi everyone, My name in Oscar E Hermosillo and I am from the NAU-Yuma nursing program. I have lived since I was 7 years old in a small town called Somerton which is roughly about 10-15 miles south of Yuma. My goals for future nursing practice are kind of up in the air right now.
Since I was little I have always wanted a job to where I am constantly helping people get back on their feet. Seeing these nurses take care of my family the way they did make me want to become that one day! There are many different branches in the medical field, and the one I'm most interested in is being a Flight Nurse or a trauma nurse.

For as long as I can remember, I ve wanted to be a nurse. Helping people and seeing a good outcome from it has always been a dream of mine, it started when I was younger I saw my mom and grandma helping different people and nurturing them. Seeing how these people would smile and thank my family for helping them inspired me to choose this career. I love how even the uniform color could put a smile on a patient's face, or even simple things such as just seeing their caregiver. There was once a time when my grandma took me to work with her and although I didn t get to do much, just seeing the workers doing their best and putting their all into the job made me happy and very appreciative of them.
My short-term goal is to find a new job. I like my job right now but it’s starting to take a toll on me. I work at an assistant living for over 4 years now, and I’m starting to get attached the residents. Some of the residents I got the closes with have passed away or moved into a nursing home.

I was very clumsy when I was a little kid. I vividly remember falling when running around in our yard. It might sound horrible, but this led me to question how our scars healed and how our bruises go away. I would ask my mother, a nurse, as to why this happens. That was when I was a kid.
In summary, a career I would like to pursue is a Pediatric Nurse. I have several qualities that suit me for this job such as caring, communication skills and vigilance. In my opinion, I believe I have chosen a career for me and would be able to work in this job until I can retire. I am a firm believer that in order to be happy and successful, you need to have a job that you love to do. This ideology is what motivated me to want to become a nurse practitioner and help the people in my community. Attending California State University, Los Angeles is allowing me to pursue my academic goal of getting into the nursing program. I aspire to get my bachelors of science in nursing to be able to become a registered nurse. After gaining experience as a registered nurse, I will pursue a master of science in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.
My long term goals are to acquire my Doctorate of Nursing Practice after completing the Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner concentration program. I would use my advance practice license in a clinical setting and later give back and share my knowledge and expertise in an educator role. I enjoy educating others greatly; one of the most gratifying components of nursing. Meeting my short term and long term professional and academic goals would be highly rewarding. Academic Goal The academic goal I have set forth is to do my very best in all my courses only A’s and B’s. This way I will have increased my odds in being accepted into multiple nursing programs so I can take the right step in achieving my first career goal as an ER rn .
