This specific quote helped us work through our positive as well as our negative experiences, both on and off of the field. Some coaches may not know it, however, their attitudes and actions which they bring with them to training has a domino effect onto the athletes, which could be viewed as a weak coaching philosophy. I will not accept tardiness, provided that there is a reason, or disrespect from my athletes; I would like for them to treat me as I will treat them. My leadership style will be of a participative nature so that I am able to engage with my athletes both on and off of the field, so that I can better understand what they are experiencing and why. I think the philosophy I would develop is respect. Respect between peers and coaches. I truly loved Netball because of the relationship we shared with our coach and that was simply because she respected us. She treated us fairly and made an effort to bond with us, unlike my Athletics coach who genuinely did not care about us. Just the school’s name, reputation and such. Not us. So, respect is important. Also when the coach respects the players it is easier for everyone to jell because no one is hating anyone and everyone is happy so everyone will cooperate. I didn’t cooperate in my third year of Athletics because I did not feel respected so I did not want to continue. I also knew if I lack, I won’t get
