I do plan on going to college, and hopefully it will be a large university. I have my sights set on the University of Alabama, but I’m keeping my mind open to as many opportunities as possible. Things like community college are definitely not ruled out, but I would love to have the experience of a large campus community. As for my major, I’m interested in doing something in English or Science, as well as looking into Secondary Education majors.
To me, in short, college means getting an education, and in the process, figuring out who you want to become. College is where you have some of the most memorable experiences in your life. One of the more prevalent ones is because at the moment I have quite a bit less knowledge about science careers as I’d like to. Up to about the beginning of freshman year, i was not interested in science. But since then I have begun to have more of a desire to learn about things in the science field, especially in biology. I also love working outdoors, which from my understanding we will be doing a lot of, and I’m very excited about that. I also enjoy working in teams and group projects. Another thing that has interested me in this program is the aspect of college-readiness. That in particular is a large reason of my want to be involved. As a soon-to-be sophomore, learning everything I can about college and being as well prepared as possibly is extremely important to me. I am willing to take any and every opportunity to participate in anything that will make me a more college ready student. I am looking to do dual-enrollment as a junior and senior, and i believe that this program will be more than prepared to step up to the challenge of college level courses.
