The best way to start learning is by standing on the shoulders of giants. In the blog sphere that means other hard hitting bloggers, in the econ sphere that means academia greats, in policy that means a number of tanks/bureaus.
My Econ Talk combines these giants along with current events along along with what I want to talk about. The blog will combine knowledge with interest to inform the reader about current events in the econ world. Together we may combine our reading and writing to become more interested in the world around us.
To combine our understanding we should start with basics and learn together. As such i wish to share some interesting blogs that i read.
WSJ - Real Time Economics - React to Feds October Interest...
Obvious choices have to be stated. But, just incase you have been under a rock the Wall Street Journal is a great place to start for any Financial/ Econ person. They also have some great intro pricing. What i liked about the react blog was how Harriet Torry was able to combine a number of quotes about a central issue, Fed interest rate, (Rant: how in the world can the Feds not increase the interest rates? i get China's market crash and how US exports may increase, but the Feds are in danger of becoming reactionary) into a coherent story (Irony). I liked his college text book style of combining sources into one place. Kind of like how the WSJ combines a large number of articles into one place.

Blogger or graphic artist? Bill gets straight to the point with a graph and few words. He believes the reader knows most everything, but wants data. And wow is he right. (Rant: if you want a bussiness idea start a data creation firm. Everyone wants those sweat data points) I had to write a number of reports based on this type of information and was glad to find other bloggers that can make this formate work.
