As a rising senior at Rutgers University, double majoring in Finance and Business Management, and with an expected graduation date in May 2017, a question which lingered with me was, how would I manage to tie this study abroad experience with my academic interests and course requirements? For a while, I even considered if this program was worth it to potentially push my graduation date a semester late (December 2017)? Upon intensive research and careful consideration, I decided yes- I can and will achieve my academic interests in National University of Ireland. And- that’s exactly what I intend on doing at NUI, to gain an academic experience at a prestigious and diverse University, which will provide me with a different insight, enable my creative thinking, and aid in my continuous growth and improvement, both personally and academically. I intend to challenge myself at NUI by not only choosing to enroll in Business related courses, but to also enroll in History classes, which is a passion of mine and could count towards a minor. Besides that, there is a vital lesson, which I can only fully learn through this program and not in any classroom being offered in Rutgers University, which is the art of flexibility and adaptation. An art which allows one to embrace a new culture, country, people, food, and lifestyle requires it be experienced and lived, not taught. Contrary to the popular belief, not all European countries have flourishing economies, and Ireland is considered as an emerging market in comparison to its well-established European neighbors. The main reason I wanted to select this program was because, having emigrated from a struggling country, I understand how important it is for outsiders to invest in your growth, through their word, time or money, and I would like to do just that. Also, I mentioned earlier I wanted to use this program as an opportunity to do volunteer work. The way in which I plan on executing that is via social media, by sharing pictures and posts of my daily findings and explorations to individuals, who may be finding themselves limited to pursue their dreams, due to whichever reasons. I want to be able to motivate others through my journey, regardless of where they come from, or the past they have had, that it is very much possible to accomplish their dreams. Over the past few years, I have come to find that young adults are more influenced by things they see on social media than any other source, and I would like to use that platform to not only share my journey, but hopefully to encourage others to start their
