As women, we always desire to have good health, but unfortunately, we never pay attention to the alerting signs produced in our bodies. Women are more prompt to illnesses; one of the reason is because we prefer to take care of the entire family instead of taking care of ourselves. For women, children are our primarily concern and their wellbeing. For us, it is a privilege be the last one on the list of priorities. Unfortunately, we have to face the consequences of our bad decisions sooner or later. Nowadays, we count with many organizations, institutions and programs, and they do care for our health. As a benevolent woman that did not want to force her ex-husband to look for a stable job where he could get a family health insurance, I decided to apply for Medicare. To begin with, I did not receive the proper care throughout my pregnancy, and consequently, there were several complications during the childbirth. The doctor diagnosed that my baby was coming totally open from the top portion of the neck all the way to the pelvis, and he reconfirmed that those babies usually die in the womb or they might live a few hours after birth. He prescribed me several medications to speed up the birth labor and prevent fetus residuals inside my body. When I had my baby, she was normal, and she was alive, but the side effects that the medications caused to my baby were irreversible. She born with 0 percent of oxygen and the pleura that surround the lungs was destroyed. Her lungs did not work properly, and throughout her childhood we spent most of the time in hospitals, emergency rooms, and doctor offices, and still it will continue for the rest of her life. Now, she is twenty years old and still suffering thanks to the doctor’s negligence and his incompetency. The erroneous diagnose was interchanged with another patient who was in labor too.
