My Marketing Philosophy

What is your marketing philosophy? Tell me about what you feel to be the most important concepts of the discipline and why you feel they are the most important. I believe that storytelling is one of the best strategies a company can use. People are becoming more knowledgeable about marketing and the typical strategies employed, which is why it is so important to be able to connect and resonate with the target audience. Creating a personality and story to accompany the brand/company allows consumers to connect in ways that they hadn’t previously been able to. A recent experience of mine allowed me to work independently where I was able to utilize and improve the skills I had learned through my education, but I was also part of a team where each of us worked together to get the job done. As a member of the team, you not only learn how to work with others, but that the combined efforts all go towards the betterment of the company. However, my experience allowed me to advance myself and hone in on skills that I will need in my career. When I began my internship, I quickly learned that there is no such thing as a dumb question because it is always better to get a clear understanding of something so that you know for the future (Lesniak, 2017). Even if you have doubts about yourself and your abilities, it is important to realize that we are all human and that humans make mistakes. What matters most is that you are able to maintain your composure and properly respond to different situations that don’t go as planned (Lesniak, 2017). Regardless of if things happen inside or outside of your control, you cannot let the past dictate your future (Lesniak, 2017). Not everything will go according to plan, which means you have to understand how to adapt, improvise, and overcome (Lesniak, 2017). Having a variety of strategies to navigate situations and being a problem solver means determining which approach is best to take (Lesniak, 2017). Overall, an internship provides you with the opportunity to gain skills that can’t be learned in the classroom and it serves as a stepping-stone to your future (Lesniak, 2017).
