I understand to accomplish my goal should acquire a lot of skills, for example, good comprehension of social media, excellent story-telling skills, and ways to reach our audience precisely. The book BEING DIGITAL gave me a huge influence. It provided me a overview of what digital can change human society and the some predictions Professor Negroponte made were so precise. This book generate my enthusiasm in digital media and see how life will be affected by new media. Later, I did internship in marketing and new media department in FOX Network. I applied my interest and knowledge in the real practice. I pitch Wechat stories by myself every week. The most successful article Dianna in Her Own Words, it eventually had a pageview of over ten thousand and more than two hundred likes, which superseded all articles ever. After three months of Wechat management, I summed up some methods to increase the amount of article hits. The title of the article requires some appealing elements, even with some click baits. The content of the article need to resonate with readers. The article has to contain visual elements. I do not have an overview of the minority group of people in China, and know little about minority group communication rules. Then I saw School of Journalism and Mass Communication is offering a course named Communication and Minorities. This course extremely fits my career goal and is not open in any other universities. Furthermore, UW has a summer internship project with SSCG Media (New York), which is one of my dream companies in America. She focuses on global health care communications and I am concerned about peoples’ welfare in China where minorities generally lack professional knowledge about keeping fitness. UW will provide me a platform to have a deeper acquaintance with public health through this summer
