My Passion For Makeup

My passion revolves around a tool that women use daily, makeup. Makeup, for me, has always brought me an immense amount of joy. When I began to wear makeup every day, I would spend time thinking about what makeup I would wear the next day and the next day. I would think about ways to improve myself. Sitting in front of my vanity, applying my makeup, I know it has never been about improving my face, but rather releasing creative energy through this type of art. This art has helped me to realize who I am meant to be. I want to help people realize that makeup is not about a disguise, but enhances the features that you already have. The skills, background knowledge, and experiences I have had in the field of Cosmetics Merchandising has made me come to the decision that I will major in Cosmetics Merchandising at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. The earliest memory I have of makeup was when I started middle school. I remember getting ready to go to the movies with a group of friends. They were applying their mascara, which made me think about how I didn’t have a mascara to apply or a shimmery eyeshadow to make my eyes pop. I felt like there was something wrong with me because I didn’t have these items. I noticed after this that nearly everyone I knew would wear some form of makeup but me. It only made me more curious about it. I felt weird asking my friends about my makeup because I didn’t want to seem not cool because I didn’t know
