My Senior Exhibition Project

I would first like to formally introduce myself as Kaylee Gray. For my Senior Exhibition Project I chose to follow the “Searching for Identity” pathway. To follow this pathway I decided to create a business plan for a fictional bakery that I could potentially open. I chose this product and path due to me looking into possibly entering the culinary field in the future, specifically having to do with baking and possibly owning my own business in the future. In order to connect my product to my research paper I wrote about the importance of a business plan and how one is immensely beneficial for any future business owner. For the research portion I accomplished this by researching what components were necessary to have in a business plan. For problem solving I was able to solve how to do the math portions specifically how to convert ingredients prices in order to figure out how much each unit would cost (i.e. convert the total price of 25 lbs in order to find how much a single cup is). For communication I met this standard by not only communicating with my mentor, but also with the advertisement portion of my assignment in which I learned how I would go about communicating my business to the public. With critical thinking I reached this standard by determining what information should be included in the plan to best show what my fictional business encompasses as well as constructing my own business description, marketing strategies, and mission statement. For reflection and evaluation this involved my mentor who helped immensely with checking my information for accuracy and my own descriptions for clarity. Lastly, for the collaboration factor this also involved my mentor who gave her expert insight on what my plan should include and what were the best techniques to make the whole plan cohesive. With this project I met the Warwick Public Schools Academic Expectation numbered 1.3 which involves communication and research. This expectation entitles when a student exhibits, “Writing clearly so that the thesis/topic, content, organization and style are appropriate to the assignment.” I reached this expectation by creating a business plan with clear, properly written descriptions and information all showing the topic matter
