For my Silver Award project, I am connecting with the Explore and Splash girl scout day camp to design the program activities for girls ages five to eighteen to come learn about arts and theater, through doing crafts, activities, playing games, singing songs, and performing skits and shows. The community issue that my project is focusing on is that there is a lack of interest in arts and theater. With this project, I hope that people have more interest in art and theater, think about it, and go to plays instead of just going and watching movies. My goals for the project are to inform girls about the art and theater programs, and have them play games, do crafts, and activities, about art and theater. A skill that I hope to develop from this project is to feel more comfortable telling people older than me what to do, my expectations, and being able to correct them, without being nervous. The steps of putting my project into action are to talk to the people that are in charge of the Explore and Splash day camp, coming up with ideas for games, activities, and badges for the girls to be able to participate in over the course of camp, telling all of the program caddies my expectations and assigning them tasks for while at camp, talking to the camp director, and going around during camp checking to make sure that the caddies are doing things correctly and how I imagined them during camp. I am working on my own for this project, and my responsibilities are to coordinate the program for the day camp, create badges for all of the girls to earn, and to have a service project for all of the girls to participate in, hopefully partnering with a Theater around the twin cities area in some
