Susan Anthony was born on February 15, 1820, in Adams, Massachusetts, and before becoming a famous feminist figure, she worked as a teacher. Anthony grew up in a Quaker family that made her spend her time working on social causes. And her father was an owner of a local cotton mill.

Jessica Krob is a sixteen year old girl who just had her life turned upside down. Never putting herself at the center of attention, Baker’s main involvements in history include the establishment of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) in 1957, working as a director of branches for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and lastly, forming meetings for the people from the Greensboro sit-ins that transformed into the Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee (SNCC). Although unable to face any grave consequences, Bakers mainly impact on history was during the Civil Rights era from 1931-1986. My Omi, which means grandmother in German, often tells me stories about when she was young living in Germany. As I got older, I became more curious about the many life experiences she encountered. The stories she told me were so surreal I could not even imagine living in her shoes.
