My Story by Elizabeth Smart was a book solely focused on her kidnapping and what happened throughout these nine months being away from her loved ones. Elizabeth Smart shows how strong she is through all the rapes and starvation and poverty she went through. Elizabeth is a 14 year old girl who loves her family so much she would do anything for them. She is a bright, beautiful, young girl who is in middle school, she is mormon and unconditionally in love with God. She is a normal teenager who is focused on school and loves her family and would do anything for them. Brian David Mitchell was a man who had a teenage conviction for pedophilia for exposing himself to a child, someone who had an addiction for drugs, alcohol, and pornography. Brian David Mitchell was a man who was selfish and never thought about anyone else's happiness but his own. He was lazy and did not work and only got things by stealing them.
