There is a low number for community college graduation rates, and there are many ways to improve it. The low graduation rates call for changes that must be made within the system. Good Evening Mr. Hallstrom, I hope you had a productive day. I have never had to write a graded email to a teacher; there is a first time for everything in a junior honors class. I am writing this email to discuss my academic life at Beckman High School. I feel that my time at Beckman High School has been very productive.

However, I have not allowed this fact to permit urban students to outperform me. By actively communicating with my counselor and administrators, I maximized my educational career. I doubled my math classes, became one of the few to enroll in physics, convinced my Spanish teacher to unprecedently offer third year Spanish, and became Hopi High’s first AP student. At home, I delved into subjects that my school did not offer, such as: philosophy, music, Korean language and history. I have became a dynamic learner to overcome the limit that my environment set, and with this kind of attitude, I believe that I can grow and learn far more in college.
Both articles are giving tips to the students who want success in the college. however, it was different tips for students because in the article, "Taking Notes: 5 College Success Tips" it was about the student 's note taking and review and edit the note after the class. In the other article, " A Professor 's Pointers for Success in College: 21 Easy-to- Follow Tips", the author gave 21 tips such as turn in all assignments, stay on top of your work, etc. for students’ success in College. I found a tip "Don 't be anonymous" in the article, "A Professor 's Pointers for Success in College: 21 Easy-to- Follow Tips", that was the most accurate in my experience.

These are the types of questions that Liz Addison challenges in her short essay “Two Years Are Better Than Four”. By taking into account my own experience as a current community college student and advocate, in this response to Addison’s essay I choose to elaborate on her views of community college being better than a four year university in the sense of offering a better college experience.
As expected, many people still hold the misconception that students who attend Community Colleges are unintelligent failures. However, that is not always the case. In truth, the popularity of Community Colleges is actually rising and many students attend Community College in order to get their general education out of the way before they attend a 4 year University. In doing so these students gain several advantages in the process. Between a 2 year plan at a Community Colleges and 4 year plan at a University, both schools are considered qualified; however, when it comes down to picking which choice is better, a 2 year plan at a Community College is more superior.
I learned more about the biological underpinnings of mental health and the environmental variables that impact mental health with every class. Each class contributed to my understanding and reaffirmed my goal of working as a mental health therapist in the near future. I found it fascinating to explore all of the courses that cover the mind and how mental health is impacted by a number of different things. Many people have great accomplishments in their life that could help transition them from child to adulthood, but as a young adult I have only lived a mere eighteen years. I have gained numerous accomplishments through sports and academics that would probably be something to help transition someone. Accomplishments that helped one to transition to an adult through academics is what most people would write a college application essay on but being different I am going to write about an accomplishment that not many people can say they have. The accomplishment I am going to write about is becoming Miss Tree City 2014.
The California Community Colleges is the largest system of higher education in the nation composed of 72 districts and 112 colleges serving 2.1 million students per year. Community colleges supply workforce training, basic skills education and prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions, this has been the primary goal for so many years. In addition to offering associates degrees to students that complete the necessary course curriculum, community colleges work in conjunction with universities to offer students that transfer from a college to university a bachelor’s degree (Floyd, 2006). According to Floyd (2006) “colleges have [had] a rich history of providing access to the baccalaureate degree through various means and models while limiting their own highest award to the associate degree” (pg. 59).
When I was in high school, I always knew I wanted to acquire a higher education. I was taught how important, beneficial, and prosperous a higher education is, and although I also knew how challenging, expensive, and fluctuating it could be, I wanted one because I knew that it will all be worth it. When I decided to go to Glendale Community College (GCC), I told myself to expect everything and to know that I was here for a reason. My first semester of college, which was the fall semester of 2016, was full of learning and adapting experiences, but it was also a successful accomplishment. I achieved academic excellence, and as Presidents’ Honors Scholar, I received a certificate of recognition.
You may think that because you are in college now you do not have to always go to class, which is not necessarily wrong. However, to be successful you should attend all classes. If you go to every class you will not be behind on any work or assignments which will lower stress and allow you to do other things. When choosing your classes do not pick classes and times that will overlap with other activities in your day, such as work. Trust me, I know you are going to feel like you have so much freedom in college
My proudest accomplishment would be being college bound. Being college bound delineates how far I've progressed in life and how much I've achieved. Taking my background into consideration, I've accomplished so much more than i would ever have predicted, and I have proved so many people wrong. Throughout life, my intelligence was often questioned and i was frequently told by my family and peers that I wouldn't accomplish anything of great substance and that my dreams are futile. Nevertheless, I never let their spiteful words bring me down or sway my focus and i continued working hard
Taking this class has had a profound impact on me. I have learned how to properly study for a college class. Also, I learned how to effectively communicate and reach out to my professor. This was my first college course which gave me a learning experience about psychology and myself as a student. I have learned how to manage my time, study in ways that are better for me, focus on the task in front of me, and reaching out and taking opportunities.
