Myths are around to teach us and bring us great knowledge of things that happened in the past. There are two different ways myth can be used which are in popular culture and in the academic context. In popular culture the word myth means is used to tell of something that is false and not true. Popular culture uses myths to deceive people, to convince them to believe in something or someone that is not true. The statement “It’s a myth” means it is a fable that is put in place, that is told to others about a true occurring event that can also be known as something that is false ("How is the Word Myth used in Popular Culture," 2019-2023). In Chinese mythology, they believe that their gods bring them the inheritance of the world and all its prosperities. No matter what culture it is they all have a supernatural being that they all worship. Each of these myths has many similarities that many people would describe as coincidence or a twist of fate. I believe that it just shows how we are all connected in some way, shape, or form. Each of these similarities shows that no matter what culture the myth comes from that they are all connected through an ancestral culture and it doesn’t matter if it is Greek mythology, Roman mythology, Chinese mythology, or even the Biblical form of mythology they will all connect. Creation myths are stories that were created by different cultures to explain to their people how the world was brought about. Each creation myth is similar because they all start off with a supernatural being or higher power creating the world and bringing about life to earth. A similar theme that appears across all creation myths is that the world was created out of nothing which was eventually covered with land and a great amount of water and was later filled with creatures and mankind which is all similar to the birth
